Spudbar's Sweet Potato Moroccan chickpea and kale

Image
I was tossing up between this one and Hawaiian the other day, so I went and did this one today. Bowl: 7/10, but I did go for a takeaway box- was hard to eat without getting hummus everywhere. Potato: 9.5/10- everything you could ask for in a sweet potato, only complaint is that I ended up picking up massive chunks of it with the fork. Moroccan chickpea mix: 10/10- Provided the sort after flavour, was very satifised with it Overall: A firm 9/10 from me!

Review: Almost Midnight- Rainbow Rowell

I love Rainbow Rowell's books, so I had high expectations for this little book with two short stories. The illustrations, I found, really complemented the stories. However, I felt as if Midnight and Kindred Spirits could have possibly been developed into books in their own right, as each story made me yearn for more. This really did meet my expectations, and a little more! Rating: 4.5/5

Coles Microwavable Thai Green Curry: A review

Image
At first, I thought that it would be near inedible. Well, I was wrong. It was actually sorta nice- it had a variety of flavours and actually cooked nicely. Rice: 7/10- for microwaved rice, it was decent. Sauce: 7/10- see above comments on flavour, it wasn't as thick as I'd hoped though. Chicken: 9/10- was nice and tender, as promised, nowhere near enough though! Overall rating: 7.5/ 10

Review: November 9- Colleen Hoover

I loved how the story connected multiple events that plagued both characters' lives. However it was a tad heavy for the one small book to handle. I was fairly interested to see how each November 9 turned out for the characters- which made this novel a page turner. For a romance book, this truly exceeded my expectations, and I'm glad about it. Rating: 4/5

Review: Always and Forever, Lara Jean- Jenny Han

I found that this book had a really bare-bones and fairly boring plot. I could peg the ending from the first few chapters, and there was no real character development or in-depth storyline to keep me engaged. Overall, I was really disappointed in this book. Rating: 2/5

Review: The Handmaid's Tale- Margaret Atwood

At first, I found it a little hard to engage in the book, with multiple switch-overs in the story line. However, once I got deep into this book, it was a really interesting and semi-thought provoking book, with little facets that all interlinked and made the book much better than I anticipated. Rating: 4/5

To-read list for the rest of the month

(because I have a million half-read books and need to finish them all at some point!) - The Handmaid's Tale - Poison Study - Forever and Always, Lara Jean - 13 Reasons Why - Stasiland - Northanger Abbey - The Darkest Minds - Dark Matter

Review: All The Bright Places- Jennifer Niven

TW: suicide, death This was quite an intense book. It made me sit there and think a bit. It focuses on some serious issues such as death and suicide. Finch was a truely oddball character, but I found that the oddballness was nicely balanced by Violet, a morose girl in mourning after her sister died in a car crash. Their adventures made for a meaningful story. Rating: 5/5

Zentangles!

I totally made a zentangle thingy for the first time in ages, and here it is: It's mainly testing out patterns, but it kinda reminds me of a beach, just a little. :)
